Using southwest bedding create unique Southwestern style Decor
There is no easier way to give your home rustic style through a great southwest bedding. A few years ago I was looking for an inexpensive way to decorate a room in my house and give a touch of the old west. I found some blankets Native Americans in a discount clothing store and decided to add as part of the western decor. I loved the Native American style they created in the room while I decided to use in every room of my house to give them that great blaze in the west are seen in design magazines.
Since I used these blankets and throws all days as quilts, blankets, blankets or lap, I was interested in the history of southwestern blankets and began researching its origin. The more I researched, the more interesting the story was. I never knew that, although very popular today with interior decorators and in modern style homes, southwest bedding for use in the decoration of Western home actually began in early 1900, when Indian trade blankets were put on the market.
Most people who come into contact with, believe that the western blankets they commonly use for southwest bedding were originally made by Native Americans. I also believe that until I started reading about the beginnings of these southwest blankets and found that although Native Americans were the inspiration behind the first design and production Trade blankets, were not what they did.
In fact, reading about the intriguing history of southwestern blankets, you will learn that they are really machine-made and produced by large weaving companies for the sole purpose of providing the Indians with needed blankets. These blankets southwest were then supplied to commercial border posts where the native people to buy and trade them and use them to wrap instead of a modern coat or jacket.
Another thing his interest in studying the history of trade blankets to use as the Southwest, is that women are more interested in decorating their homes in 1900 southwest decor and western designs rose in popularity. These blankets "Indian" as it became called, were requested by persons across the country, who wanted to bedding and decorative southwestern sofa or chair covers to enhance the southwest home decor. Trading blankets India were wonderful to cover bare legs when in a wagon, sleigh or buggy, and new car without horses. Later, they were used as spear for camping, boating and spending time new engine called.
Today, you can easily buy southwest bedding online and in places that sell the home decor west and southwest. Whether as a quilt southwest, a blanket or bed throw, southwest bedding will add charm to your home, and the environment. If you are impressed with the authenticity and traditional values of Native Americans and are looking for an easy way to improve the Western style in rustic home decor, then certainly enjoy owning and decorating with southwest bedding.
